                Since our office and personnel are all local, we are able to have an active presence in the community.  We give back to local commerce by recommending and using vendors and locally based businesses. We are passionate about the relationships we have built over the past half-century, as we are of the beautiful homes we’ve cared for and know what our homeowners want from us.



Established in 1958, we are the longest operating, vacation rental company of the island.  Our success in setting the standard for vacation rentals and property management on Hilton Head Island started with a  simple promise to manage your investment as we would our own- maximizing your exposure and income potential, and providing a superior experience for your rental guests.



Gerard Mahieu is the President of Resort Rentals of Hilton Head Island by Vacasa. Gerard’s background is in marketing and advertising and he devotes much of his time to this.

Bill Haley, broker-in-charge, has over 30 years of experience in the vacation rental industry on Hilton Head Island.  Bill is the former owner of Hilton Head Oceanfront Rentals and now focuses on new property acquisitions and public relations.

Suzanne Natoli is the assistant general manager. Suzanne has worked with Rentals of Hilton Head by Vacasa for over 10 years and is a licensed real estate agent. Suzanne grew up on Hilton Head Island and has built lasting relationships with many of our owners and local vendors.



Since 1958, Resort Rentals of Hilton Head Island has provided excellent return on investments, customer service and home maintenance to all of our vacation homeowners. We have established four commitments by which we live and work.

COMMITMENT #1  We will manage your investment as we would our own – always striving to generate the maximum rental income possible, and we’ll work with you to gain the maximum rental exposure. We also guarantee that your monthly statement – complete with itemized expenses – will be e-mailed by the 10th of each month.

COMMITMENT #2  We will maintain your property year-round with no “up charges.” We will inspect your property after each rental, and perform an annual property inspection and analysis in the autumn season at no charge.

COMMITMENT #3  Resort Rentals of Hilton Head Island by Vacasa’s marketing campaigns guarantee maximum exposure for your property. Our web-based marketing, along with select and strategic print media, will be included in our marketing strategy for your vacation home.

COMMITMENT #4  We will provide a dedicated toll-free number and password-protected Internet access to live information regarding your homeowner account. You can check the rental calendar and review itemized monthly statements at any time. We honor the idea that this is your investment and that you need to do what is best for you.
