Little Local Secrets

When vacationing, sometimes it helps to know some things that only the locals know.  Below is a list of some of the Island's most popular places to eat, visit, and shop.

Breakfast

Southern Coney and Breakfast has great pancakes and is located off of Pope Avenue in the Bi Lo Shopping Center. 

Island Bagel and Deli is located off Highway 278 just north of Shipyard Plantation and has some of the best bagels in the area.

Palmetto Bay Sunrise Café has plenty of breakfast options and is located in Palmetto Bay Marina.

The Lowcountry Backyard is another great option that is located right next to our main office on Palmetto Bay Road.

 

Lunch and Dinner

Smokehouse BBQ is located off of Palmetto Bay Road, right across from our office and has some of the best BBQ in the area.

Hickory Tavern, located in the Shelter Cove Plaza is a sports bar and grill chain with an extensive menu.

Java Burrito serves locally sourced Mexican fare and is located in the Wexford Shopping Plaza.

Mangiamos is a local pizza, pasta, and wings hangout that is perfect for any Ohio State fan, and is located on the north end of the island.

 

Seafood Restaurants

Barnacle Bill’s on Highway 278 has great fresh and local seafood. 

Skull Creek Boathouse, located off of Squire Pope Road is a favorite.

Captain Woody’s off of Target Road is a great place for lots of different kinds of seafood.

Old Oyster Factory off of Broad Creek has gorgeous views of the water and marshes.

Sea Shack is off of Pope Avenue and has a variety of seafood options available.

Black Marlin is located in the Palmetto Bay Marina area and serves fresh seafood in both indoor and outdoor settings.

 

Grocery Stores

Publix and Harris Teeter are located off of the Sea Pines traffic circle.

Fresh Market is located just north of Shipyard on Highway 278.

Whole Foods and Kroger are located just north of Palmetto Dunes on Highway 278.

Walmart Super Center and Publix are located on the north end of the island off of Highway 278.
