The island of Hilton Head measures 5 x 12 miles. It boasts beautiful sugar-white sandy beaches that will feel awesome against your bare feet. Located off the southernmost tip of South Carolina the island is warmed by year round breezes from the Gulf Stream. Many travel from around the world to enjoy this destination any time of the year.

Whether you’re a golf lover, tennis lover, or beach bum, there are plenty of things to do on the island. Activities such as golfing, tennis, biking and walking on 50 miles of trails, kayaking, jet skiing, charter fishing, parasailing, dolphin-watches, dinner cruises, historical tours, and arts & entertainment await. The island has plenty of shopping and dining venues that you’re sure to enjoy.

There are a number of public beach access points, including one for the exclusive use of town residents. You’ll want to ask about the closest one when you check into your rental. Every water sport you could imagine (plus more!) is available right here on Hilton Head Island. There are also rentals for bicycles, boats, golf carts, jet skis and more.

If you’re interested in cultural opportunities, you won’t be disappointed by what Hilton Head has to offer. Broadway-quality plays at the Arts Center of Coastal Carolina, the Hilton Head Choral Society, the Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra, the largest annual outdoor, tented wine tasting event on the east coast, and several other annual community festivals are just some of what’s available here on the island. Hilton Head also hosts the popular Heritage Golf Classic, a stop on the PGA Tour that is played on the Harbour Town Golf Links in Sea Pines Resort.

The island of Hilton Head is known for its eco-friendly development that minimizes the impact of development and governs the style of buildings and how they are situated among the existing trees. You won’t see any bright lights, billboards or high-rise buildings here. What you will see is the difference this makes once you arrive on the island.
