Secrets Of Summer 2010

This year is flying by! We are already smack in the middle of Hilton Head Island’s summer rush, and it looks like we are going to be busier than ever! We have lots of new visitors this year that have never been to our fair island before. So all you locals and regular guests (visiting locals) make sure you stop and take a moment to share some of our “Island Secrets” to those who may be having a hard time navigating our unique island. You know the ones like:

Harbourfest at Shelter Cove with Shannon Tanner Monday through Friday (Tuesday for Fireworks).

Or that you should see Gregg Russell under the Liberty Oak in Sea Pines at least once.

Renting and riding bikes all over the island is the preferred mode of transportation.

Coligny Plaza has different entertainment most nights and some kid -friendly events during the day.

The Coastal Discovery Museum has all kinds of educational programs for kids to adults that will also entertain you as you learn about our island and its precious ecosystem.

Depending on when you visit, we have world class arts and cultural events from plays and musicals at the Arts Center of Coastal Carolina or South Carolina Repertory Company. Or you can enjoy the Hilton Head Symphony perform under the stars (bring your own blanket).

The Island Rec Center has different events they host throughout the summer at Shelter Cove Community Park from Movies under the Stars to their Summer Jams most Tuesdays during the summer.

This is just a taste of what is in store as we have over 200 restaurants that fit every palate and budget. You can kayak our lagoons or the ocean, sail or jetski the creeks and sounds. We have art galleries and great shops to explore and farmers and fish markets to get the local flavor. Really, we have it all and once you understand the Sea Pines and Coligny Circles you will feel like a local too.
