Heron Point by Pete Dye

After a year long extreme makeover the new Heron Point by Pete Dye replaces everything that the old Sea Marsh course was in Sea Pines except for the trees and the corridors. With angles that are dramatic and elevations that shift, the surface is a mix of grasses, sand mulch and limestone. Though it is still an "Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary” this course is not just for the idle bird watcher.
The course from the back tees is 7,000 yards with a mix of long and short holes and all call for precise landings. Lagoons were added and the contours of many existing bodies of water on the course were changed. Precise approaches are what are needed to keep scores low.
