Belfair

Two very different and challenging courses beside the Colleton River on the site of the historic Belfair Plantation. Of them Tom Fazio said, "I honestly think the Belfair courses represent my best work." Design objectives were to build courses playable for men and women of all ages and handicap levels, yet remain challenging to scratch golfers playing from the 7,080-yard championship tees. This was achieved through five sets of tees to create appropriate length and difficulty for players of each level. Courses begin and end at the Clubhouse.

The West Course, a parkland design, is an 18-hole, par 72 consisting of challenging par threes to long par fives on rolling fairways to elevated undulating greens. They are set off by ancient, moss-draped oaks, lush native grass and sparkling lagoons. Scalloped and landscaped bunkers guard nearly every pin. LINKS magazine called it "what could be the finest set of golf holes in the Lowcountry, if not the East Coast."

The East Course's 18 holes, reminiscent of Scotland’s links, feature open and windswept fairways showcasing deep-water views. Its par 71 stretches 6,959 yards from the championship tees, bordered by fresh-water lakes and lagoons. The two Belfair courses have received national recognition and rewards including listing in Golfweek's America’s Best Residential Courses and selection since 2000 as host site for the prestigious Players Amateur Tournament.
